Questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. The tool runs inside your browser, so your files never leave your device and nobody else can see them.

How accurate is the colour?

It reads the exact pixel under the centre of the zoom, as your browser displays it. JPG photos have tiny variations between neighbouring pixels, so the zoom helps you pick the one you mean.

How is the palette chosen?

The image's colours are grouped into the six most distinct families (a method called median cut), and each family's average colour is shown, largest first, with its share of the image.

Can I pick a colour from my screen instead?

Take a screenshot and paste it here with Ctrl/⌘ + V. The picker works on the screenshot exactly like on a photo.

Your images are processed on your device and never uploaded.
