Questions

Are my PDFs uploaded?

No. The tool runs inside your browser, so your PDFs never leave your device and nobody else can see them.

What's the difference between the levels?

Lossless only repacks the file: text, drawings and images stay exactly the same, so savings are usually small. Balanced resizes large photos to about 2200 pixels and re-saves them as JPG, which looks the same on screen and in normal printing. Strong resizes photos to about 1400 pixels at lower quality, for the smallest file.

Will my text get blurry?

No. Text and drawings stay as sharp, selectable vectors at every level. Only photos and scanned images are resized.

Why didn't my PDF get smaller?

PDFs that are mostly text, or whose photos are already small, have little to remove. The tool keeps your original when it can't save at least 1%, and tells you so.

Does it work with password-protected PDFs?

A PDF that needs a password to open, or that blocks editing, is refused with a message instead of producing a broken file. If you know the password, remove it with Unlock PDF first, then add the unlocked file here.

Is there a size limit?

Up to 50 PDFs at once and 50 MB per file. Very long documents work too; the page count only depends on your device's memory.

Your images are processed on your device and never uploaded.
