Questions

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. Everything runs in your browser and nothing you type or open is uploaded, logged or saved. Your settings are remembered on this device; your text isn't.

Is Base64 encryption?

No. Base64 only changes how data is written so it can travel through text-only systems. Anyone can decode it, so never use it to hide passwords or keys. If decoded Base64 isn't text, you can download it as a file.

Which URL setting should I use?

Turn on Keep URL structure when you're encoding a whole link, so its slashes and ? stay as they are. Turn it off when the text is one value inside a query string, so characters like & and = are encoded too.

Which characters does HTML encoding change?

The five that can break HTML: & < > " and '. Turn on Encode non-ASCII too to also write accents and emoji as numeric entities. Decoding never renders or runs the HTML.

Does Parse URL visit the link?

No. The link is only read as text, so it's safe to paste suspicious ones. Tracking tags are anything starting with utm_ plus click IDs such as gclid, fbclid and msclkid; parameters a site needs, like id or q, are kept.
