Questions

Is my text sent anywhere?

No. The code is drawn in your browser, so links and Wi-Fi passwords are never sent anywhere. The codes are static: they work forever, don't track scans and don't depend on any service.

Which error correction level should I use?

Medium suits most uses. Choose High if the code will be printed small, may get scratched or will have a logo placed over it. Higher levels make the code denser.

Why won't my code scan?

Most phones need a dark code on a light background with clear contrast, and a quiet margin around it. Very long text makes the squares tiny, so keep links short.

Are these barcodes valid for selling products?

The barcode is drawn correctly, but EAN and UPC numbers for retail must be issued to your company by GS1. Making up a number will scan, but it may belong to someone else's product.

Which barcode size should I print?

Download SVG and scale it in your layout. For retail EAN-13 the usual size is about 37 × 26 mm. Keep the white space around the code, because scanners need it.
